July 31

Hi guys,

Well looks like we are finally going to start work on translating this stuff, we should have started from the get go, but oh well hind sight is always 20/20, These posts will more then likely not follow the previous french ones, but I will try to make them make sense.

Another week done, with the car at the garage for get fixed before I get it inspected for my new Quebec plates (Just so you know I will be keeping my SK plates visible in the garage at all times, maybe even in the house) I have finally become used to taking the bus system.

The week before I started my job I did a recon mission to see how long it would take me to get to work by bus, It did not start well, here's what should have happened.

I take the #77 then transfer to the #132 and presto I'm at work in 55 min.

This is what happened; I walk to the teminus to buy my buss passes, that took me a good 20 min walk, the guy at the macs (in the terminus building) told me to go to the ticket booth in the Metro, by the way I don't think he uses the buses. Once at the ticket booth I wait a couple of minutes to be told the STM(Montreal transportation network) booth does not sell RTL(Longueuil transportation network) tickets and that I need to go upstairs. So now I'm at the right booth and I buy my tickets, my mission is now at about the 30 min mark. Now I search for the bus route maps because after 10 min of looking for bus #77 I realize it doesn't stop at the terminus but it does 1,5 blocks from my house, I'm told the ones I need are all gone and that they will be replaced tomorrow, well looks like I'm pooched there. Oh wait I have my Iphone YES! load up the website click on the maps, Oh wait I cant open them because flash player isn't supported by Iphone (mission time about 45). So I wing it, I jump on the first shuttle bus to Panama terminus (I know I have to go there to get on the #132) 10 min now I wait for the #132 while I'm snooping around I find a bus that goes where I need to and 15 min earlier so I jump on that one. Well that bus doesn't go where I thought and I end up at the end of the line and have to wait for the bus to come back and pick me up. Back on the bus I ask him to drop me off as close to blvd Lapiniere as possible. Then I get to walk 1,7ish KM to work. Mission time 3hrs plus the 45 before I got on the bus.

I am glad to say I now get to work in under 45 min so that is much better.

Work is really good, my coworkers are all very nice, and they hardly heckle me about the Riders, I guess the fact that we beat them last week might have something to do with that. We went to that game, the atmosphere is different, we still see some green a little everywhere and we were so much closer to the field then in Regina, close enough for beer cans to roll from our feet to the out of bounds line.

We are pretty much settled in the house only a couple more furnishings to buy and a new room to add on to the house for all the booze I got at the stag, thanks guys.

I'll keep adding in a bit, email or facebook me if you want me to fill in details on other stuff as I go.

Miss you guys a bunch

Bisous xoxo

A perfect weekend… almost!

The car is at the mecanics, for a little maintenance before it has to pass the inspection for Quebec plates. We have therefore used the public transport system to the maximum to take advantage of Montréal’s diversities. The only thing missing is you guys ! J

A quiet Saturday morning, coffee at the cousins house, some yard work, heading to Montréal, supper at 3 Amigos, viste at the Just for Laughs festival, laughter, then visit with Max and Steph, return trip, viewing of the fire works. Yup that’s what we did in one sentence.

Sunday, after working in the yard, we get ready to bring a little bit of Rider vill here. Hop on the metro and walk to the stadium (we had one fellow cheer us on for his car). We win and they pout, we have a beer then head home.
It was a nice weekend, busy yet relaxed, here are some pictures.

At the Just for Laughs festival, we learn a new way to play tic-tac-toe
